Photography has been my love and my obsession since I found it at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1994. I finished a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 99, and returned to school at Yale University to finish a Masters of Fine Arts in photography in 04. I then moved to London, England to intern with Magnum photographer, Martin Parr.
I've taught college courses in photography at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, the College of Southern Nevada, and Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. My photographs have been on the cover of the Los Angeles Times and have been used in numerous magazines and blogs.
But it's like I always say: degrees and accomplishments don't mean a thing! It's more important - I think - that a photographer be passionate about it and LOVE what they're doing, and I definitely do. I can't think of anything I'd rather do than take pictures, look at pictures, talk about pictures... it's not a career choice; it's really a lifestyle, and photography has made mine into a life worth living. A mom once got a little tear in her eye when she saw one of my photographs, and I was so thrilled: the goal after that was always to make you cry a little bit... in a good way! I want to really 'see' your family and capture the things that really make each person an individual, all the cute/weird/fun expressions and reactions to one another!

Please include in your inquiry your name, phone number, current city and the service you are looking for. Include special requests -- for example, if you'd like me to travel* to location for a shoot.
My services include:
Styled shoots, complete with custom props and clothing consultation. This is an elaborate shoot-- for those who want a very custom, one of a kind photo session that is anything but traditional.
Newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 year. Packages including all five shoots available.
Senior Photo packages
Wedding Packages including engagement session
Extended families-- with separate pricing for extended or extended with add-on: if you'd like additional images with each family or with individuals-- this is priced by the number of people and the number of individual groups/people to be photographed, so please include this # in your request.
Photo parties/minis: I shoot two types of parties:
- teen/tween/child birthdays: a personalized shoot for party goers-- a super fun shoot kids will love. Older girls love doing "model" shoots on location.
- Mini-sessions set up by a host. Host receives free session for setting up and booking 6 to 8 20-minute sessions or 3 to 4 40 minute sessions in the same location on the same day. I can travel for these shoots.
*Travel expenses are not included in pricing. Travel beyond 5 miles of Superior, Nebraska, is additional and will be quoted for your unique situation.
*As of 2013, there is a state-required sales tax for all photographic services.
